What’s Next For This Project?
Comments
will be received from the public and agencies on the SDEIS until April 12, 2007.
These comments will be evaluated and this information used in conjunction with
the information contained in the SDEIS to recommend a Preferred Alternative to
be carried forward into the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS). The
FEIS will evaluate the Preferred Alternative in more detail than the previous
documents. When the FEIS has been approved by FHWA, it will be available for
review and comment. After reviewing and satisfactorily addressing the SDEIS and
FEIS comments, FHWA will issue a Record of Decision that is the final location
decision in the environmental review phase of the project.
The Department may then proceed with surveys and detailed project design. After
the detailed design reaches the point that right of way requirements are
determined, Design Public Hearings will be held to convey this information.
Right of way acquisition and the construction phases of the project can proceed
as funds become available.
After the Record of Decision has been signed by FHWA, the AHTD may then proceed
with the project design, right of way acquisition, and construction phases of
the project as funds become available. At this time, there is no schedule for
construction of any portion of the project.
