Aerial Reproduction Specialist - Grade VIII

 

Characteristics of Work

Under general supervision, this position performs aerial film processing and custom printing operations in support of highway engineering projects and county mapping programs.

The Department may require employees to perform functions beyond those contained in job descriptions. The Department may modify job descriptions based on Department needs. The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department is an "at will" employer.

· Process and finish aerial roll film.

l Title and number aerial film.

l Make contact prints and enlarge photography.

l Compute negative scale and determine enlargement factor for reproductions.

l Select, mix, and distribute photo chemicals.

l Collect and utilize sensitometric data in process control.

l Perform operator maintenance of lab equipment

l Perform digital image processing.

l Operate, maintain, and trouble-shoot the aerial camera.

l Operate computer-based flight management system.

· Utilize precision laboratory equipment to produce photographic products
   required in mapping and engineering projects.

Minimum Requirements

The educational equivalent to a high school diploma.  Graduation from a photographic technical school or two years experience in a related field.  Basic computer skills.  Knowledge of Photoshop software.  Must be able to physically occupy the seat set-up for the Aerial Photographer on the current aircraft in use for aerial photography and be able to remain airborne up to four hours without returning to the ground for personal reasons or needs.  Valid driver’s license.
