AHTD TO HOLD PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT SESSION IN MALVERN

LITTLE ROCK (6-3) 

The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will conduct a public involvement session to discuss the proposed construction of a new bridge over the Ouachita River in Malvern, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

     The informal session will be held Thursday, June 13, 2002, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Room A300 of the Ouachita Technical College, 1 College Circle, in Malvern.    

     The proposed project consists of building a new bridge across the Ouachita River on Tanner Road near the site of a previous structure, which washed away in 1990.  The site is just east of the I-30/Highway 171 interchange.

     The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view exhibits and offer comments.  Preliminary plans with conceptual design and right-of-way will be shown.
