Work on Kerr Road Overpass to Require Temporary Lane Closures June 29

LITTLE ROCK (6-27) Improvements to the Kerr Road overpass over Interstate 40 at mile marker 166 in Lonoke County will necessitate lane closures on the overpass this weekend, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

Crews will be raising the overpass to make improvements to the section of Interstate 40 from the Lonoke County line to Highway 31.  The repairs will necessitate the following lane closures on the overpass, weather permitting.

        Saturday, June 29, 2002 from 12:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Sunday

Both lanes of the overpass on Kerr Road will be closed to traffic. The Kerr Road exit ramps on

Interstate 40  will remain open in both directions

The improvements are part of the five-year Interstate Rehabilitation Program to improve nearly 380 miles of interstate highways in the state.

As always, motorists are urged to “Think Ahead,” “Buckle Up” and exercise caution when approaching and traveling through highway work zones.
