LITTLE ROCK (7-19) 

The following lane and ramp closures associated with work on Interstate 540 in the Fort Smith area have been scheduled for the week of July 22 through July 27. 

LANE CLOSURES 

OKLAHOMA STATE LINE TO HIGHWAY 71

·         Westbound and eastbound traffic will continue to be restricted to one lane from near the Highway 71 Interchange [Exit 12] to near the Oklahoma State Line.  This lane closure is necessary to allow for shoulder reconstruction along the outside edge of the pavement.

PHOENIX AVENUE TO HIGHWAY 22 (ROGERS AVENUE)

·         From Monday, July 22, 2002, through Saturday, July 27, the eastbound lanes will be restricted to one lane beginning at 6:00 P. M. each evening and will be restored to two lanes before 6:00 A. M. on the following morning from Phoenix Avenue to Highway 22 (Rogers Avenue).

Traffic may be delayed for a short time on the Hwy 22 (Rogers Avenue) eastbound off ramp from the eastbound lanes direction during the evening of July 22 when paving of the outside lane will occur and again on the evening of July 26, when paving work will be under way on the off-ramp.

 RAMP CLOSURES 

·         The following ramps for eastbound traffic will be closed at 6:00 P.M. each evening and will reopen before 6:00 A.M. on the following days— 

Exit 9 off-ramp (Leigh Ave.) July 25, 2002 (Thursday night)

Exit 9 on-ramp (Leigh Ave.) July 26, 2002 (Friday night) 

Adjustment of the times and dates of the lane and ramp closures may be required due to weather or other unforeseen traffic conditions.
