Improvements to Highway 22 in Paris

LITTLE ROCK (7-26) The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department is making plans to do resurfacing work on a portion of Hwy 22 through Paris in Logan County.  The resurfacing project will be along Hwy 22 between Short Mountain Creek in the western part of Paris and Poindexter Street in the eastern part of town.  Cold milling preparatory work to remove the old, uneven, and worn existing surface is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 5, and should be completed by Friday August 16, 2002, barring unforeseen weather and equipment problems.  The application of the new hot-mix asphalt surface will follow the cold-milling process as soon as the equipment and crews can be scheduled.  The work should be completed by the end of August.  Motorists are encouraged to utilize alternate routes, when and where possible, while this work is underway and, as always, their cooperation and patience will be appreciated.
