Notice to MediaImprovements in Springdale and Fayetteville LITTLE ROCK (9-6) On
Monday, September 9, through Friday, September 13, traffic using Hwy 71B
(Thompson Ave.) in Springdale and Hwy 180 (Sixth Street) in Fayetteville will
encounter lane closures at various locations.
The lane closure in Springdale will involve the northbound outside lane
between Maple St. and Backus Ave. and the closure in Fayetteville will involve
the westbound outside lane between Hwy 71B (South School Street) and I-540.
These lane closures are necessary to allow the Department’s contractor
to continue with work involving the curbs and sidewalks adjacent to the driving
surface of the State Highways mentioned.
The lane closures, where implemented, are generally expected to be in
place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Motorists
are urged to use care and think ahead when traveling through the work zone.
They should remember to Merge Left
Early as they approach the work zone; to Obey
the Posted Speed Limits and Other Regulatory Signing; to Maintain a Steady Speed; to Leave
Room between them and other vehicles; to Be Aware of Road Conditions in front of them; and to Anticipate
the Unexpected Need to Stop or Reduce Speed Substantially.
