AHTD TO HOLD PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT SESSION IN POTTSVILLE

LITTLE ROCK (10-1)

The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will conduct a public involvement session in Pottsville to discuss plans for the possible relocation of Highway 247 in the vicinity of Pottsville, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

The informal session will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2002, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Pottsville City Hall, 173 East Ash Street in Pottsville.

The relocation of Highway 247 around Pottsville is part of the proposed Russellville Bypass project which will utilize most of existing Highway 247 west of Pottsville.  The October 22 meeting will focus on new location alternatives for the highway east of the existing location of Highway 247 in Pottsville.

The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to ask questions and view a  display of proposed changes.
