PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT MEETINGS PLANNED FOR HIGHWAY 49 IMPROVEMENTS


LITTLE ROCK (10-21) 

     The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will conduct two public involvement sessions to discuss plans for improvements to Highway 49, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

     The informal session are scheduled at the following times:

 

              Monday, October 28 – Brinkley

              Brinkley High School cafeteria, 100 Tiger Drive                  

  4:00 – 7:00 p.m.

 

Tuesday, October 29 – Marvell

Marvell High School cafeteria, 1018 Highway 49

4:00 – 7:00 p.m.  

 

     The meeting will focus on plans for improving Highway 49 in Monroe and Phillips counties.  Five sections of passing lanes are proposed between Brinkley and Marvell.  Plans also call for widening the highway to four lanes from Marvell to Walnut Corner.

     The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.
