AHTD To Hold Public Involvement Session In Jonesboro

LITTLE ROCK (11-25)

The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Public Involvement Session in Jonesboro to discuss plans for a new highway to connect Highway 226 with Highway 49 in southwest Jonesboro, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

The informal session will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2002, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Valley View High School, 2118 Valley View Drive, in Jonesboro.

Future plans call for Highway 226 to be widened to four lanes from the new location of Highway 67 west of Cash to Jonesboro.  The December 10 meeting will focus on that portion of Highway 226 to be constructed on a new location to connect existing Highway 226 north of Gibson with Highway 49 near Valley View.

The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.
