LITTLE ROCK (10-13) 

     The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department  (AHTD) will hold two Open House public meetings to discuss the Interstate 540 Improvement Study.

     The informal sessions will be held as follows:

             October 27, 2003, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Leverett Elementary School

 Cafeteria, 1124 West Cleveland Street in Fayetteville.

October 28, 2003, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Shewmaker Center at the

Northwest Arkansas Community College, Interstate 540 & Highway 62 in Bentonville.

The study was recently initiated by the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to determine the need for and feasibility of improvements to Interstate 540 and its interchanges within Washington and Benton Counties.

     The Public Meetings will afford those in attendance an opportunity to comment on the need for improvements and to provide early input for the study.  Representatives of the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department, as well as the consultant preparing the study, will be available to answer questions and receive comments.
