HIGHWAY POLICE CONFISCATE DRUGS NEAR HOPE LITTLE ROCK (5-1) Officers from the Arkansas Highway Police Division of the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) uncovered a large shipment of illegal drugs earlier this week, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers. On Monday morning, April 28, 2003, at approximately 6:00 a.m., a truck was stopped at the Highway Police station on Interstate 30 at Hope. During an inspection of the truck, Highway Police officers discovered several packages of assorted drugs inside a hidden compartment. The seizure included over two pounds of marijuana, almost five pounds of powder cocaine and approximately 47 grams of rock cocaine. The driver was identified as Larry Green, age 42, of Millington, Tennessee. It is believed that he was traveling from Dallas, Texas to Collierville, Tennessee. The truck was traveling without a trailer. Larry Green was arrested at the scene, with his brother Frank Green, a passenger in the vehicle. Both men were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent To Deliver, a felony, and were booked in at the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Department, where they are being held.
