The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will have crews working on Highway 311 in Carroll County next week. 

     Crews will be sealing lanes on Highway 311 beginning Monday, August 16, through Monday, August 23, excluding Friday, Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.  The work will involve 6.2 miles of the highway extending from Green Forest to Farewell. One travel lane will remain open at all times during the project.  Flaggers will be present to alternately move traffic through the work zone.

     Sealing includes applying liquid asphalt and covering it with small aggregate.  Some loose aggregate may remain on the roadway until the final sweeping.  Signage will be in place to remind motorists of lowered speed limits and to advise of road conditions. Motorists are urged to use caution, drive slowly and consider using an alternate route.
