I-40 RAMP CLOSURES AT BURNS PARK IN NORTH LITTLE ROCK

LITTLE ROCK (8-30)

Contractors working on the rehabilitation of Interstate 40 in North Little Rock will require intermittent closures of westbound I-40 on and off-ramps at the Burns Park interchange on Wednesday morning for paving and ramp improvements.  The temporary closures are scheduled to begin at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, September 1st for 15 minute intervals until the ramp improvements are complete which may take several hours.

Motorists traveling westbound on I-40 will not be able to exit at the Burns Park interchange during the 15 minute intervals while the ramp is closed.  The Burns Park area may be accessed via the Levy interchange and Hwy. 365, or motorists may turn around at the Crystal Hill interchange and take the Burns Park exit ramp from I-40 eastbound.  For access to I-40 westbound during the on-ramp closure period, motorists may initially travel to I-40 eastbound and turn around at the Levy interchange in order to access I-40 westbound.

Motorists are encouraged to consider alternate routes if possible and follow all roadway signage and speed limits.  Additional details of Interstate lane closures may be found at the www.ArkansasInterstates.com website where a “Daily Lane Closures” page lists continuous updates to current and upcoming lane closure locations and time frames.  The AHTD Public Affairs Office is available via phone at 501-569-2227 on Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., to assist motorists with construction information.
