LITTLE ROCK (9-21) – Contractors for The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will have paving crews working on the Baseline (Highway 338) and Chicot Roads intersection beginning on Thursday, September 23 and continuing through next week, according to AHTD officials.

The $4 million project to construct a railroad overpass near the intersection was awarded to Southern Pavers in October 2002. The bridge has been completed and open to traffic for some time. Milling and paving of the approaches begins the final stages of this project. Traffic signal improvements are still planned and should be completed by the end of the year.

Signage will be in place to remind motorists of road conditions. Motorists are urged to use caution, drive slowly and consider using an alternate route during this phase of work.
