SMOKEY LANE CLOSED FOR CONSTRUCTION


     LITTLE ROCK (10-15) –  Beginning on Friday, October 22, contractors for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will close Smokey Lane in North Little Rock to accommodate widening of the project between McCain Boulevard and 43rd Street, according to AHTD officials.

    Spartan Construction of Kentucky has the $629,482 contract to widen to the road to three lanes, add curbs, gutters and sidewalks. The road will only be open to local traffic until the estimated completion date of Spring 2005.
