ROAD CLOSURES SCHEDULED FOR I-40 WORK ZONE IN CONWAY LITTLE ROCK (11-12) Contractors
working on the reconstruction of the Hwy 65B Interchange on Interstate 40 in
Conway will require nighttime lane closures on Interstate 40 in order to hang
steel beams for the new bridge deck. Beginning
at 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 14th, road crews will close the outside
lane of I-40 in each direction between mile markers 128 and 130.
Also after 10 p.m., it will be necessary to close all lanes in both
directions of the Interstate for up to 15 minute intervals.
After this brief closure, one lane will reopen while traffic clears
before the next 15 minute closure begins. These
closures are expected to continue for five consecutive nights between 7 p.m. to
6 a.m. the following morning from
Sunday through Thursday, November 18th. During
the road closure period, all access ramps to and from Highway 65B will be open
and extra law enforcement will be utilized to assist with traffic control.
All work will be done as weather permits with possible rainfall forcing
the road closure schedule to begin at a later date.
Motorists are encouraged to consider alternate routes if possible and
follow all roadway signage and speed limits.
Additional
details of this and other Interstate lane closures may be found at the www.ArkansasInterstates.com
website where a “Daily Lane Closures” page lists continuous updates to
current and upcoming lane closure locations and time frames. The AHTD Public Affairs Office is available via phone at
501-569-2227 on Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., to assist
motorists with construction information.
