WHO:                         Arkansas Highway Commission (AHC) Chairman Prissy Hickerson, Arkansas State Highway & Transportation Department (AHTD) Director Dan Flowers, First Lady Janet Huckabee and Arkansas Highway Police Chief Ron Burks will announce the launch of the AHTD’s Litter Violator Reporting System.

                                    Arkansas Highway Commissioners, Captain Ray Coston of the Arkansas State Police as well as various law enforcement officers and representatives from the Governor’s  Council on Litter Law Enforcement will also be present.

                                    Speakers include AHC Chairman Prissy Hickerson, First Lady Janet Huckabee, AHTD Director Dan Flowers and Arkansas Highway Police Chief Ron Burks.           

 WHAT:                      Presenters will explain the escalating problem of litter along Arkansas roadways and how the AHTD will combat the problem and ask for citizen help.                                       

 WHEN:                      Tuesday, December 14, 2004, 2:00 p.m.

OPPORTUNITY:      Commissioners and other guests who are actively involved in

solving the litter problem in Arkansas.  Uniformed officers from law enforcement agencies will be present.  Media will be directed to on-site installation of new roadway signage designed to inform motorists of the program.
