PUBLIC HEARING IN HINDSVILLE CANCELLED

LITTLE ROCK (12-8)

The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) has announced that the Public Hearing regarding Highway 412, scheduled for December 14 in Hindsville, has been cancelled.  The cancellation is the result of the need to revise the project’s Environmental Assessment related to project alternative alignment revisions.

The AHTD, in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), is now revising the project’s Environmental Assessment.  The public hearing will be scheduled once the FHWA approves the revised Environmental Assessment.

Plans call for widening a 5.3-mile section of Highway 412 to four lanes extending from the Washington County line eastward to Highway 45.  A portion of the project is proposed to be on new location just west of existing Highway 412.  An adjoining project will widen an additional 7.3-mile section to four lanes extending eastward from Highway 45 to the Huntsville Bypass.
