FOUR WAY STOP TO BE INSTALLED AT INTERSECTION OF HIGHWAYS 31 AND 38

LITTLE ROCK (12-9)

The intersection of Highways 31 and 38, in northern Lonoke County, will be converted to a four-way stop at noon on December 15, 2004.

Presently, only traffic on Highway 38 is required to stop.  The change is being made as a result of a study made by the Maintainence Division of the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department.  The new four-way stop is expected to improve safety at the location.

Changes to the intersection will include “Stop Ahead” signs and rumble strips added on Highway 31.  The flashing yellow beacons operating on Highway 31 will be changed to flashing red.
