ROAD CLOSURE & DETOUR SCHEDULED ON WESTINGHOUSE DRIVE IN HOT SPRINGS LITTLE ROCK (12-16)
Arkansas State Highway & Transportation
Department officials have announced a temporary closure and detour for
Westinghouse Drive between Highway 70 and Spring Street in Hot Springs. The
temporary closure is necessary to accommodate work on the Westinghouse
Drive/Highway 70 interchange currently under construction. The road closure will begin at approximately 6 a.m.
on Friday, December 17, 2004, and is estimated to remain in place for up to 1
month. The work will be done as weather permits, with possible inclement weather
causing the schedule to be revised. During the road closure period, traffic will be
detoured onto Persimmon Street (next to Cutter Morning Star School), then to
Spring Street, and back to Westinghouse Drive.
Electronic message boards and other directional signage will be in place
to clearly indicate the detour route.
Upon completion of the work, traffic will be returned
to Westinghouse Drive where one of the new interchange ramps will be used as a
temporary connection to Highway 70 until the remainder of the interchange and
overpass project is complete. Motorists may wish to consider alternate routes
during the closure period. As always, motorists are advised to remain alert and
use caution when traveling through this or any work zone.
