I-40 WORK IN RUSSELLVILLE HAS SCHEDULING CHANGE

LITTLE ROCK (2-2)

A contractor for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) has made changes to the scheduled blasting work at the Mill Creek Interchange (Exit 78/Highway 64) on I-40 near Russellville, according to AHTD officials.

Beginning on Friday, February 4, the starting time for blasting will change to 4:30 pm each Monday-Friday and possibly on Saturdays. ONLY ON Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, escort vehicles will “pace” traffic at a reduced speed for 15-20 minutes prior to that exit. Traffic will not be interrupted on other days.

Gilbert Central Corp. is the general contractor for the $6 million project that will construct a new westbound exit ramp, a new eastbound entrance ramp, relocate the frontage road and a connector road at the northwest section of the interchange.

Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes during construction.
