AHTD TO HOLD DESIGN PUBLIC HEARING IN TEXARKANA

LITTLE ROCK (3-10)     

          The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Design Public Hearing in Texarkana to discuss proposed design plans for the new Highway 71 northern loop around Texarkana , according to AHTD officials.

            The informal session will be held Thursday, March 17, 2005, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cathedral Heights Church of the Nazarene, 4010 Fairground Drive , in Texarkana .

The proposed design calls for the relocation of Highway 71 on new location with four lanes and median, extending from Arkansas Boulevard to Interstate 30 and from Interstate 30 northward to Highway 71. 

Also presented will be the proposed improvements to the intersection of 19th Street and existing Highway 245. 

The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.
