Crews working on the Interstate 540 Arkansas River Bridge in Fort Smith will require lane closures on March 16 -18 for routine bridge inspection work, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department officials. Weather permitting, the work will begin at 9:00 a.m. and be complete around 3:00 p.m. each day.

            The outside lane in each direction will be closed during inspection.

As always, motorists are urged to exercise caution when approaching and traveling through highway work zones.
