AHTD TO HOLD PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT SESSION IN BENTONVILLE

LITTLE ROCK (5-19)     

         The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Public Involvement Session in Bentonville to discuss plans for improvements to Highways 72 and 112, according to AHTD officials.

            The informal session will be held Thursday, May 26, 2005, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Washington Junior High School , 1501 Northeast Wildcat Way , in Bentonville.

Plans call for widening 1.7 miles of Highway 72 to five lanes in the city of Bentonville , extending from Highway 112 eastward to Highway 71.  Improvements to the intersection of Highway 112 and 8th St reet are also planned.  Left turn lanes will be added at the intersection.

             The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.
