ROLLING ROAD BLOCK SCHEDULED FOR BRYANT, I-30 WORK ZONE LITTLE ROCK (6-3) Contractors working on the rehabilitation and widening of I-30 in the Bryant area will require a rolling road block on Interstate 30 WESTBOUND. Beginning at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Monday, June 6th, road crews will slow down all lanes of I-30 WESTBOUND beginning near theThis
work zone procedure, also called “pacing,” will keep traffic moving very
slowly while allowing the contractor to quickly maneuver equipment into the area
to be worked ahead of the traffic flow. This
rolling road block is necessary to prevent extended periods of closures and
traffic delays due to tapering traffic down to one lane.
Once the procedure is complete, normal traffic flow will be restored. During
the pacing operation, the westbound on-ramp to I-30 from the Bryant interchange
will be temporarily closed. However,
the frontage roads and all westbound exit ramps from I-30 to the frontage road
will remain open. This rolling road
block WILL NOT AFFECT I-30 EASTBOUND
in this area. Work will be done as
weather permits with possible inclement weather forcing the closure schedule to
be revised. Motorists are
encouraged to consider alternate routes if possible and follow all roadway
signage and speed limits. For
additional information, the AHTD Public Affairs Office is available via phone at
501-569-2227 on Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., to assist
motorists with construction information.
