AHTD TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARINGS IN PINE BLUFF AND STAR CITY

LITTLE ROCK (6-15)     

           The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold Design Public Hearings in Pine Bluff and Star City to discuss plans for an Interstate 69 connector, to be built, ultimately, as a four lane, divided highway, according to AHTD officials.

            The informal session in Pine Bluff will be held Monday, June 27, 2005, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Central Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 6300 Trinity Drive .

            The session in Star City will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2005, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Star City Civic Center Hall, 201 Liberty St reet . 

Future plans call for a four lane, divided highway on new location extending from the Pine Bluff Bypass southward to Highway 278 near Wilmar.  The initial projects will involve construction of two lanes, with two additional lanes being constructed in the future. 

The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.
