Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials have announced that lane closures are scheduled on Monday through Thursday for the upcoming weeks on I-40 near the Mayflower Exit #135 in order to paint the structural steel on the overpass bridge. 

Beginning on Monday, June 27^th between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., road crews will close one lane in the WESTBOUND direction of I-40 between mile markers 136 and 134.  Two or three days of lane closures are planned on I-40 WESTBOUND, followed by 2 – 3 days of closures on I-40 EASTBOUND.  No lane closures will take place during the holiday travel period of Friday, July 1^st through Tuesday, July 5^th as part of this bridge painting project.

During the lane closure period, all access ramps to and from the Mayflower exit will be open.  Work will be done as weather permits with possible inclement weather forcing the road closure schedule to be revised.   Motorists are encouraged to consider alternate routes if possible and follow all roadway signage and speed limits.
