AHTD TO HOLD PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT SESSION IN VAN BUREN        


     LITTLE ROCK (8-2)  The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Public Involvement Session in Van Buren to discuss plans for  improvements to the intersection of Highways 64 and 59, according to AHTD officials.

       The informal session will be held Thursday, August 11, 2005, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Van Buren Community Center, 814 Drennen Street , in Van Buren.

     Future improvements call for removing the existing median wall on Highway 64, adding left turn lanes on both highways and installing a traffic signal at the intersection.  

     The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.
