The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Public Involvement Session in El Dorado to discuss plans for improvements to Highway 7, according to AHTD officials.

            The informal session will be held Thursday, September 29, 2005, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at SouthArk Community College , Center for Workforce Development, Room 121 in  El Dorado . 

 Plans call for widening approximately 2.5 miles of Highway 7 to four lanes in northern El Dorado . The project will extend from Highway 167 North northward to Highway 7 Spur.  The project is one of three that are programmed that will eventually provide a continuous four-lane highway around the east side of El Dorado using Highways 7 and 167.

The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.
