AHTD TO HOLD PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT MEETING IN VAN BUREN

    LITTLE ROCK (4-5) The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Public Involvement meeting in Van Buren to discuss plans for improvements to Highway 64 between the cities of Van Buren and Alma, according to AHTD officials.

     The meeting will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2007, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Concord Baptist Church, 6105 Alma Highway (Highway 64), in Van Buren.

      Plans call for adding inside deceleration lanes and turn-arounds in the median of a 5.4-mile section of Highway 64.  The improvements will be located between Interstate 540 in Van Buren and Highway 64B in Alma. 

     The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.  For more information, contact the AHTD Environmental Division at 501-569-2281.
