LITTLE ROCK (8-29) 

     Crews working to relocate approximately 1.7 miles of Highway 128 in Hot Springs will shift traffic onto the new roadway on August 30th, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

     The relocation of Highway 128 is taking place south of the Martin Luther King Expressway and extends from Shady Grove Road southward to the Ouachita River .  The new alignment covers approximately one mile on the south end of the project from the vicinity of Entergy Pa rk to just south of Grandpoint Dr ive .  Traffic will continue on new alignment through the Shady Grove Road intersection before shifting back onto the existing roadway. 

     Motorists traveling to destinations along the old roadway between Entergy Pa rk and Grandpoint Drive should use the new street intersection at Entergy Pa rk during the interim period while a new street intersection is constructed south of Grandpoint Drive to access the old roadway.  This would include motorists traveling to Peninsula Dr ive , Bayshore Dr ive and Lakewood Convalescent Home. 

     As always, motorists are urged to exercise caution when approaching and traveling through highway work zones.
