AHTD TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING IN ALMA


    LITTLE ROCK (8-31) 

     The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Location Public Hearing in Alma to discuss plans for improvements to Highway 162, according to AHTD officials.

     The meeting will be held Thursday, September 13, 2007, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Alma High School , 101 East Main Street , in Alma .

     Plans call for making improvements to Highway 162 in order to reduce congestion through Alma and to provide a bridge over the Union Pacific railroad tracks.  Presented at the meeting will be three alternatives: improvements to existing Highway 162 through town, and, eastern and western alternatives on new location.
