The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) is making available The Arkansas Statewide Long-Range Transportation Plan: 2007 Update including the Public Involvement Procedures documents for public comment.

 The Arkansas Statewide Long-Range Transportation Plan: 2007 Update is a policy guide document that describes conditions and needs of the transportation systems in Ark ansas and a guide for identifying highway and transit improvement projects.  The Public Involvement Procedures describe the methods and processes that the Department will use to ensure opportunities for public review of transportation planning programs.

   The AHTD will accept written comments until November 7, 2007, at the address included below.  Copies of the documents are available at the Department’s District Headquarters, Metropolitan Pl anning Organizations, Planning and Development Districts, the Department’s website at www.arkansashighways.com or by writing to:  Mr. Ala n Meadors, Planning & Research Engineer, Attn: Arkansas Statewide Long-Range Transportation Plan, P.O.
