AHTD TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING IN GOULD


LITTLE ROCK (2-9)     

            The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a public hearing in Gould to discuss plans for proposed improvements to Highway 65, according to AHTD officials.

            The location and design public hearing will be held Thursday, February 23, 2006, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Gould Community Center , 212 Jackson Street (Highway 212), in Gould.

            Plans call for widening approximately four miles of Highway 65 to four lanes, extending from south of the city of Grady to north of Gould.  A second project to be discussed at the meeting will widen approximately 12 miles of Highway 65 to four lanes extending from north of Gould southward to Highway 159 at Mitchellville.  

            The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.
