PUBLIC HEARING IN CLARENDON


     LITTLE ROCK (3-8)   The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Design Public Hearing in Clarendon to discuss proposed plans for improvements to Highway 79, according to AHTD officials.

     The meeting will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2006, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the White River Radio Club, 416 Midland , in Clarendon.

      Plans call for the construction of a new Highway 79 bridge crossing the White River at Clarendon.  The bridge, and two additional ones, will be built on new location.  As part of the project, approximately five miles of Highway 79 will also be relocated. 

     The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.
