MOTORIST SURVEY TO BE CONDUCTED FOR Highway 412 Improvments in Paragould

    LITTLE ROCK (3-29)   A contractor for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will be conducting a motorist survey along U.S. Highway 49 and Business Route 49 immediately north of 8-Mile Creek in Paragould.  This survey is being conducted as a part of the ongoing Highway 412 improvements study and will help determine traffic patterns in and around Paragould. 

    The survey will be conducted by the traffic engineering firm of Crawford, Bunte & Brammeier on a single day during the week of May 1, 2006, and will take place during the following time periods:  6:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

     Motorists will be stopped briefly and receive a postage-paid, pre-addressed postcard as they pass southbound into Paragould along U.S. 49 and Business Route 49.  Arkansas Highway Police officers will be present to ensure traffic safety during the survey periods.

     Personal information, such as name and address, will not be collected.  Motorists will be asked to complete and return the cards within 24 hours.
