LITTLE ROCK (4-17)  The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will be conducting a motorist survey in Batesville and the surrounding area in the coming weeks.  This survey is being conducted as a part of the ongoing Highway 167 Batesville Bypass Study and will help determine traffic patterns in and around Batesville. 

     The survey will be conducted by AHTD staff during the weeks of April 24 and May 1^st.  Surveys will take place during the morning and afternoon/evening hours of both weeks.

     Motorists will be stopped briefly and asked several short questions about the origin and destination of their trip.  Arkansas Highway Police officers will be present to ensure traffic safety during the survey periods.

     Please allow for extra travel time during this two week period.  AHTD appreciates the patience and participation of the citizens of Batesville and the surrounding area.  Questions or comments about the survey may be directed to the Public Affairs Office at (501) 569-2227.
