Arkansas Highway Police Seize Drug Shipment LITTLE ROCK (4-10) Officers from the Arkansas Highway Police Division of the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) have uncovered a significant shipment of illegal drugs, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers. On Saturday, April 8, 2006, a tractor-trailer rig was stopped at the Highway Police station on Interstate 40 at Alma. During an inspection of the truck, officers from the Arkansas Highway Police discovered several bundles of marijuana weighing approximately 2,318 pounds and valued at approximately $3.4 million. The driver was identified as Stacy Johnson, age 34, of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. It is believed the truck, transporting a load of produce, was traveling from Arizona to New Jersey. Johnson and the truck owner, Levy Ford III, age 31, of Baltimore, Maryland, were arrested at the scene for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and are being held on $50,000 bond each at the Crawford County Detention Center. Both were scheduled for arraignment in circuit court in Van Buren on Monday, April 10, 2006.
