Repair Work at Highway 178 Bull Shoals Dam

LITTLE ROCK (4-24) The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be doing repair work to the Bull Shoals Dam that will require closure of Highway 178 near Bull Shoals, officials of the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) have announced.

Repairs to dam operating machinery will require that Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam be closed May 8th through May 11th from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each of those days.

Detour signing will be in place in Flippin and Midway to direct traffic around the area.  In addition, Corps of Engineers Rangers will be stationed at each end of the dam to notify drivers.

Motorists are urged to plan ahead and select an alternate during times when the highway is closed.
