AHTD TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING IN VILONIA

LITTLE ROCK (5-3)  The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Design Public Hearing in Vilonia to discuss plans for proposed improvements to Highway 64, according to AHTD officials.

The meeting will be held Thursday, May 18, 2006, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Vilonia High School Cafeteria, 1164 Main Street, in Vilonia.

Plans call for constructing approximately ten miles of Highway 64 as a four-lane, divided highway. The work will begin where the current four-lane highway ends, just east of the Highway 64/Highway 36 intersection, and extend eastward on new location south of Vilonia before reconnecting with existing Highway 64 just east of town.

The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.
