LITTLE ROCK (5-3)   The connector linking Ferry Street with the entrance ramp onto Interstate 30 eastbound (towards North Little Rock) in the River Market area of downtown Little Rock will be closed for work this weekend, officials of the Arkanasas State Highway and Transportation Department have announced.

     The connector from Ferry Street to the Interstate 30 eastbound entrance ramp will close at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 5^th, and will reopen around 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 6^th.  The closure is needed to allow a contractor to perform work associated with the River Rail extension project in downtown Little Rock.  The closure of the Ferry Street connector will not affect the movement of traffic from Cantrell Road or East 2^nd Street onto Interstate 30 East - the entrance ramp onto Interstate 30 will remain open. 

     Detour signing will be in place to direct traffic to the entrance ramp.  Motorists are urged to plan ahead, allow extra time and select an alternate route during the closure.
