Public Meeting to be held in Sheridan

LITTLE ROCK (6-13)  The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Design Public Hearing in Sheridan to discuss plans for a proposed bypass of the city, according to AHTD officials.

The meeting will be held Thursday, June 22, 2006, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Sheridan High School cafeteria, 700 West Vine Street, in Sheridan.

Plans call for constructing a western bypass of Sheridan.  The western alignment was selected based upon a review of the Environmental Assessment, consultation with other agencies including the Federal Highway Administration and consideration of public comments collected throughout the environmental review process.  More detailed right-of-way and design elements of the selected alignment will be shown at this meeting.

The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.
