LITTLE ROCK (6-13) The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Public Involvement Meeting in Pocahontas to discuss plans for improvements to Highways 62 and 67, according to AHTD officials.

     The meeting will be held Thursday, June 29, 2006, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 605 S. Park Street, in Pocahontas.

     Plans call for widening one mile of Highways 62 and 67 in Pocahontas to five lanes.  The project would extend from Park Avenue, on Highway 62, eastward to the intersection of Highways 62 and 67.  The project would continue on Highway 62/67 northward to Highway 90.    

     The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.
