Intermittent Closures on I-40 near Conway

LITTLE ROCK (7-20) Crews working for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) have scheduled intermittent closures of Interstate 40 near Conway for next week, according to AHTD officials.

Crews will be hanging beams at the new Interstate 40/Highway 25 interchange just west of Conway near Mile Marker 123 beginning Monday, July 24th and continuing through Wednesday, July 26th, weather permitting.  Beginning at 9:00 p.m. each night and continuing until 6:00 a.m. the following morning, the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 will be closed, as needed, for up to 15 minute intervals.

Message boards will be in place on the Interstate to advise traffic to slow down and prepare to stop.  As always, motorists are urged to consider an alternate route and exercise caution when approaching and traveling through highway work zones.
