I-40 Work near Conway Extended LITTLE ROCK (7-31) A contractor working for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will continue intermittent closures of Interstate 40 near Conway through this week, according to AHTD officials. Crews hanging beams at the new Interstate 40/Highway 25 interchange just west of Conway near Mile Marker 123 will continue this week, weather permitting. Beginning Monday night and continuing until Wednesday morning, the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 will be closed for up to 15-minute intervals between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Beginning Wednesday night the work will move to the westbound lanes, with lane closures again between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Work should be completed by 6:00 a.m. on Friday. Message boards will be in place on the Interstate to advise traffic to slow down and prepare to stop. As always, motorists are urged to consider an alternate route and exercise caution when approaching and traveling through highway work zones.
