IMPROVEMENTS BEING MADE TO HIGHWAY 62B IN MOUNTAIN HOME

LITTLE ROCK (8-30) A contractor working on Highway 62B in Mountain Home will require lane closures beginning next week, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

The resurfacing of Highway 62B will require lane closures beginning Tuesday, September 5th  and lasting until mid-October.  Weather permitting, crews will begin milling the roadway from Highway 5 South (E. 9th Street) near the Baxter County Sheriff’s Department eastward for 2.5 miles to Highway 178 (Club Boulevard).  Once milling is complete, the roadway will be resurfaced.  The work will begin at 8:00 am each Monday through Friday, and should be complete each day by 6:00 pm.  Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic through the area. Twin Lakes Quarry Inc., of Mountain Home was awarded the contract for the project in May for nearly $800,000.

Motorists are urged to consider an alternate route, if possible, and reduce their speed when approaching or traveling through highway work zones.
