    LITTLE ROCK (9-1)

Crews working on improvements to Highway 298 in Saline County will require lane closures next week, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

Crews doing chip sealing on seven miles of Highway 298, south of Paron, will require lane closures beginning Wednesday, September 6th and continuing each weekday through Wednesday, September 13th.  The resurfacing work will begin at the intersection of Highways 298 and 9 and extend eastward. Weather permitting, work will begin at 9:00 a.m. each day and end at 4:00 p.m.  Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic through the area.

Motorists are urged to consider an alternate route, if possible, or reduce their speed when approaching or traveling through highway work zones.
