AHTD TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING IN WEST MEMPHIS   


    LITTLE ROCK (9-12) – A consultant for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Public Involvement meeting in West Memphis, Arkansas, to discuss potential railroad overpass alternatives in West Memphis and Marion, according to AHTD officials.

     The consultant, Parsons Transportation Group, is conducting a planning study to determine the need for and feasibility of constructing railroad overpasses in West Memphis and Marion.  Each railroad crossing in the area has been studied and the most congested were selected for further study.  The consultants have prepared conceptual layouts for these locations.

     The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 28th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mid-South Community College, 2000 West Broadway, West Memphis.  The meeting will be held in Room 108 of Magruder Hall

     The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.
