AHTD TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETINGS FOR BELLA VISTA BYPASS

    LITTLE ROCK (11-2) The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold Design Public Hearings in Gravette and Bella Vista to discuss plans for improvements to Highway 71, according to AHTD officials.

     The first meeting will be held Wednesday, November 15th, 2006, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gravette High School, 325 Lion Drive, in Gravette.

     A second meeting will be held Thursday, November 16th, 2006, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bella Vista Baptist Church, 50 E. Lancashire Blvd., in Bella Vista.

     Plans call for the relocation of Highway 71 in the Bella Vista area.  When completed, the new four-lane, divided highway will serve as a bypass of Bella Vista and extend northward for 14.6 miles to the Missouri state line.    

     The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.
